Nelson George is an acclaimed author, director, producer, and master storyteller. With a remarkable portfolio that captures the essence of the black experience in America, Nelson has made significant contributions to the industry.

From producing “The Chris Rock Show” and “Hip Hop Honors”; Executive Producer and Co-Writer on the successful Netflix series “The Get Down”, created by director Baz Luhrmann and Pulitzer- winning playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis. Queen Latifah won the Golden Globe for playing the lead in George’s HBO directorial debut, “Life Support”.

Nelson’s other work includes HBO documentary “Say Hey”, “Willie Mays”, “Finding the Funk” and “The Black Godfather”. Currently, Nelson is editing the highly anticipated documentary “A Great Day in Hip Hop Revisited” and serving as an executive producer on the Tupac Shakur series, “Dear Mama”.

Marc Boothe is an award-winning creative producer and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience across film, visual arts and creative tech. 

He founded B3 Media, a Brixton-based arts network that has supported over 3,000 BAME creatives globally, helping them to launch successful careers in the arts, film, and TV, and win significant awards at major festivals such as Cannes and BAFTAs. 

Marc's passion for supporting emerging talent is evident through B3 Origin and TalentLab XR, a BAFTA member, Cambridge Social Venture Incubator Programme alumni and holds an MBA.

Anisa is a British Asian actress and writer. Anisa studied Performance at QMUL, during which she immersed herself in fringe theatre. Among other performance credits that include Disney India, Anisa performed in Permission, a one-woman show directed by Hunia Chawla (Camden People’s Theatre).

Most recently, Anisa finished working on Vitamin D, directed by Melina Namdar, a play set to tour. She is also a poet and has had multiple spoken-word tracks released on major streaming platforms. Hope, her debut poetry collection, is available on Amazon.

Gary is a London-based art director/graphic designer working in film, TV and branding. He is developing a pitch for a nine-part augmented/2D live-action animation series together with a contemporary arts and apparel platform inspired by the city of London.

 

Kesi labels herself a creative, which helps her to explore and express her talents, skills and abilities freely. She enjoys giving life to the simplest ideas and using her creativity to educate, elevate, inspire and support people from all walks of life.

Jay is a multi-disciplinary creative with interests in interculturality, identity and family relationships. He has produced multiple award- winning web series and short films and was shortlisted for a Nespresso Talents UK award. He directed two monologues for Creating Apart, an ACE-funded showcase for emerging ESEA actors, and he has also written scripts that were shortlisted for the Shore Scripts TV Pilot Scheme and BBC Comedy Short Form Development Fund and longlisted for the BBC Writers Room and All 3 Media New Comedy Voices.

 

In Joe’s broadcasting career, he interviewed Anthony Joshua and created documentaries on a UFC fighter and a European MMA champion.

Johny Pitts is the founder of the European Network Against Racism award-winning online journal Afropean.com and the author of Afropean: Notes from Black Europe (Penguin Random House). It has been awarded the 2020 Jhalak Prize and the 2020 Bread & Roses Award for Radical Publishing and is the recipient of the 2021 Leipzig Book Award for European Understanding and the 2021 European Essay Prize. He is the co-presenter of BBC Radio 4’s Open Book.

 

Maria is a Venezuelan documentary filmmaker and photographer. Her cinematography, editing and co-direction in her first film, The Ritual to Beauty, won the Grand Jury prize at Slamdance and received nominations at BlackStar Film Festival, HotDocs and BFI London Film Festival. The Ritual to Beauty was then distributed and published by the New Yorker.

She has been part of the edit team for award-winning films and has dedicated much of her work to films that promote social change, most notably for the Latinx and Afro-Latinx diaspora. She has used her talents to create moving pieces for charities working out of Palestine and Iraqi Kurdistan. Her photo work has been featured in several publications, including VICE, DazedDigital, and Latina Magazine.

Mishaal (he/him) is a writer/director based in the South East. His latest short, funded by BFI Network and executive-produced by Lotus Visual Productions, is currently on the festival circuit, premiering at Outfest Fusion in LA and the BFI Southbank.
He has a background in VFX, working on-set for Disney and for clients such as Radiohead. He is also a BFI Film Academy Craft Skills alum and a Westminster Film School graduate.

 

Olu is an actor and writer-director whose current work asks “what- if” questions about her observations of everyday life. Harnessing her experience in fashion film direction, Olu also has an interest in experimental work. Her previous work has covered identity, escapism, spirituality, social norms, and personal experiences. She has worked on projects at the Old Vic, Young Vic, Criterion Theatre, Bernie Grants Arts Centre, Tristan Bates / GEMA Collective, Bunker Theatre and The Royal Shakespeare Company (The Dell).

Shernay is Founder of The Imprint and an award-winning filmmaker with several years of experience in the creative sector, having created content for brands such as Nike, 55DSL, and WeSc! Shernay has also worked for artists such as DJ Spinna, Kae Tempest and, more recently, for Movement 4 Black Lives.
