We welcomed back our TalentLab 2017 cohort last week for our annual B3 Futures showcase to share their works in progress. Our group of ten presented their diverse range of projects, spanning Virtual Reality, immersive theatre, short films, documentary and animation - this is our most eclectic TalentLab cohort yet!
Having completed the B3 TalentLab development week back in October when they took part in a range of workshops, talks and seminars, our cohort then took their projects through our bespoke development programme which has seen their projects shift even further.
Since November we have successfully found mentors for each of our Associated Artists for the next stage of their Research and Development phase. Each project has been matched with experienced producers, directors and writers to curators, VR specialists and established artists. Over these past 6 months, the TalentLab 2017 shortlisted artists have received bespoke support and guidance from their mentors, helping them refine concepts and ideas, scripts and treatments as well as inspiring confidence in them to present their projects at B3 Futures.
B3 Futures enabled the cohort to engage with an audience; guests who could both be potential collaborators or funders, and get immediate feedback on their work in progress. After the 10 artists had presented, there was a break out session, an opportunity to network, continue conversations, create connections over a relaxed drink and nibbles.
B3 Media’s support for our artists does not end with TalentLab 2017. Each project is in the preliminary stages of becoming something even more exciting and forward thinking: So watch this space!
