B3 makes connections: between Britain's multicultural communities and its creative industries. We do so by uniting the power of digital media with the creative potential of emerging digital artists, film makers, visual artists and sound artists. Our activities - workshops, screenings, studio sessions, talks, networking events - are all about nurturing new talent and creating industry connections. We help them develop, produce and distribute their work, from the first spark of an idea through to the first showing and beyond.

B3 FEATURELAB

B3 seeks to redefine the notion of 'British Cinema' and is looking for the next distinctive British feature film.

So we've created a partnership between B3 Media, Film4, the Binger Filmlab and Skillset. We aim to fast forward the filmmaking process for people who are ready to make the leap to a full-length feature film for commercial release. Not everyone will get that far but we'll help you give it your best shot.

CREATIVITY WORKS

Creativity Works are B3's nights of networking, screenings, performance and music at Curzon Soho. Creativity Works returned as part of the London Design Festival for a mash up night of networking for all filmmakers, musicians, DJ's, designers, visual artists and animators.

Blank Slate is our digital short film initiative. Every year we produce eight short digital films made by new multi-ethnic talent from across the UK.

IDENTITIES.TV

Identities.tv is a UK-wide experimental project bringing together emerging artists working across spoken word, screen based media and music/sound design to collaborate to produce new work around themes of identity.

The next Identities.tv showcase is happening at Cameo Picturehouse in Edinburgh, 13th November at 6.30pm. We will also screen a number of shorts from the past year, and discuss funding for short films through Blank Slate.

C-LABS

The C-Lab activities - workshops, screenings, studio sessions, talks, networking events are all about nurturing new talent and creating industry connections.

Moving Image Lab @ B3 Media

B3 and Mediamatic organized a 5-day workshop about audiovisual projects for current digital media.

This Lab is was at media artists such as directors, producers, filmmakers, designers and musicians, and showcased at the ICA in November. Our aim was to create a cross-pollination of creativity and ideas; where the emphasis was on the art of storytelling through multimedia technology.

COMPASS POINT 2

Compass Point is a professional development programme delivered by the National Film and Television School in association with B3 Media. The second year of programme is now completed.
